Ryan Kent dive helps secure 3 points for Sevco, pressure back on Celtic

Hibs were by far the better side tonight at Easter Road. They deserved at least a point from the game and were well on course to getting it, until Ryan Porteous dangled out a leg in the box and Ryan Kent did his best Superman impression and John Beaton was all too happy to give the penalty.

Yes there was contact, but only when Kent kicked his right leg to the side in mid-air to hit off the leg of Porteous to initiate the contact.

Sevco were poor tonight. They didn’t like the way Hibs got in their faces, the way they pressed them, and that bodes extremely well for Celtic, given we will do the exact same thing, only better when we play then on 2nd January.

Morelos did absolutely nothing apart from miss a sitter with his head, Hagi was barely involved, and Alan McGregor in goals crapped his jocks every time a cross ball came his way. Another thing Ange Postecoglou will have been very aware of watching that performance tonight.

Van Bronckhorst looked lost on the sidelines, like he was shocked that Hibs didn’t just fold and roll over, the way that Livingston and Sparta Prague did in his previous two games in charge. He also got lucky as he was just about to substitute Kent just before he did his best Tom Daley impression to win Sevco the penalty.

The pressure is now back on Ange Postecoglou and Celtic tomorrow night as we welcome Hearts to Paradise. The fans will no doubt have the place rocking to inspire the bhoys to victory.
