Well, that was nerve wracking. A game we should have put to bed became very nervy towards the end with Hearts pilling on the pressure. Swedish defender Carl Starfelt, who was immense tonight for Celtic and rightfully picked up the Man of the Match award, saved us late on with an outstanding last ditch tackle.
Celtic had many chances to put the game beyond the visitors tonight. As I said in an earlier article we played some dazzling football at times going forward, but too many good chances were missed. We must start taking these before the cost us.
And talking of cost, wow, I don’t know what happened tonight but Ralston, Jota and Welsh all ended up going off through injury. This could be absolutely devastating for the run in to Christmas, especially if we potentially lose Jota for a period of time, who has clearly been our best player in the last number of weeks.
Let’s hope the injuries are not too serious. But for now. Three points secured. Job done.
