It is a very exciting time being a Celtic supporter at the moment with the transfer window opening in just under 24 hours.
Celtic have been heavily linked with bringing in 3 Japanese footballer’s from the J-League, attacker Daizen Maeda, midfielder Yosuke Ideguchi and full back/midfielder Reo Hatate, with the latest reports stating that these three transfers are pretty much nailed on.
Japanese football expert Dan Orlowitz took to Twitter earlier tonight and answered a question from a Celtic fan who asked him who we should be most excited about, with Dan replying “For me, get pumped for Maeda now, but give Hatate time and he’s going to grow into a terrific player.”
This is fantastic to here and Dan knows his stuff. With the success Kyogo has had at Celtic and Maeda being a very similar player, many Celtic fans have high hopes for him and expect him to hit the ground running, especially having just finished his season in Japan in fantastic form and being voted into the team of the year and finishing joint top goalscorer.
And hearing that he believes Hatate with grow into a terrific player is also excellent to hear. Of course, it is asking a bit much for every player we bring in from Japan to hit the ground running, we can’t expect all of them to be instant hits like Kyogo. It’s important that as Dan says, we don’t expect too much too soon, and we give them time and encouragement to grow into being a footballer for a massive club like Celtic. We also know that Ange has a deep knowledge of these individuals and we know that we can absolutely trust his judgment.
I look forward to an exciting month ahead!
