Alex Rae, speaking on Clyde Superscoreboard tonight, has made the astonishing claim that Benfica are able to recall Jota from his loan spell at Celtic.
Here is what Rae said about the situation when talking about Jota “The interesting thing as well, the Benfica manager got sacked in the last few days as well, so the reserve manager has taken over, he had an option to recall Jota, having worked with him at the reserve level and he doesn’t look as though he’s going to take that up, so that bodes well for Celtic to sign this guy on a permanent deal.”
With Celtic having an option to buy for £6.5m, it doesn’t seem believable that Celtic would agree that Jota can be recalled by his parent club. It would be horrific mismanagement on our part, and I just do not believe we have agreed to it.
In my opinion Rae has got his wires crossed here, he’s even been given dud info, or got confused about something he has read in the press in recent days.
