My word, what an embarrassing couple of days it has been for some of the journalists in the Scottish media.
Tom English is on Twitter this morning foaming at the mouth tweeting every Celtic fan under the sun who believed the fantasy football numbers to be an accurate representation of the transfer fee for Nathan Patterson.
David Tanner was at it a couple of days ago, determined to tell anyone who’d listen that the fee is £16m. Such strange behaviour. I’ve honestly never seen anything like it. It’s like primary school kids arguing in the playground over the price they sold their pokemon cards for!
What’s bizarre is we never saw any of these journalists falling over themselves to inflate the fees for Kieran Tierney or Dembele, or even fall over themselves to report the accurate figures for these sales, which were vastly more than what Sevco have gotten for Patterson, especially in the up-front fee.
Heck I even remember English coming out and saying Tierney should go to Arsenal on loan for £3m and if he did well it would incite a ‘bidding war’ for his services. Because apparently Celtic selling a player that came up through the ranks for £25m just wasn’t enough for old Tom!
It really is laughable the way these ‘professional journalists’ are acting at the moment. It’s almost as if they have an agenda…
