Sydney Super Cup Details Emerge, Celtic v Sevco Kick Off Tournament

The Sydney Super Cup has now been officially announced, and it has been confirmed that Celtic will indeed play Sevco in the first ever derby match played outside of Scotland.

The derby game will kick off the first ever Sydney Super Cup tournament, which will then be staged every two-three years.

The other teams involved are Sydney FC and Western Sydney Wanderers.

It has been confirmed to be three matches over the space of five days, so it looks like the Scottish and Australian sides will play each other, with both winners meeting in the final.

Talking about the tournament ,Stuart Ayres, Western Sydney’s Minister for Enterprise, Investment and Trade, Minister for Tourism and Sport. said:

“Sydney has kicked another goal as Australia’s home of football with the world’s best clubs coming out to play our hometown heroes in the Sydney Super Cup,” he said.

“What better way to start than with a historic rivalry like the Celtic vs Rangers derby.”

The exhibition tournament is to feature three matches over five nights from 16 November and will be played again in 2025, according to the New South Wales government.
