That was absolutely tremendous this afternoon.
In my opinion, and also given what is at state and our record at the Tony Macaroni stadium over the last few years, that was our best away performance of the season today.
We were relentless.
There was no doubt today we were leaving that hellish ground with nothing less than three points.
Ange surprised us all with the team selection today, mainly starting Maeda when we all expected Giakoumakis to play, and starting Forrest when you’d think Abada would have been a nail on to start.
And it was absolutely the right call. As was bringing in the height of Nir Bitton in the centre of midfield to play in front of the defence and pushing Callum McGregor up one.
Every single player who started was at least an 8 out of 10 today. I thought Jota in particular was outstanding.
Our pressing was as good as I have seen it since the first half at home to Sevco. As soon as they got the ball we were on them in a flash, hunting them down in packs. It was terrific.
The early goal really helped up as it forced Livi to open up and create space for us on the counter, and we all know they are more than happy to play eleven men behind the ball in order to steal a point from a 0-0 draw.
That result today, and the performance that went with it, will be a massive boost to the team, because this is arguably the hardest place to go in the league and get a result for us. The stats over the last few years back that up.
I expect Celtic to kick on now, keep this good form going and keep racking up three points.
We went from hoodoo to ‘boohoo’ today…the usual “big decisions didn’t go our way” nonsense.
How about trying to come out of your to come out of your own half, Martindale? Livi have been playing well, but today they chose anti-football again.
Checked to see how Fortingall set his team up against sevco Scotland and it was 3-4-2-1 but against celtic its 4 at the back hope today’s result really hurts for him.
