Dermott Gallagher normally gets it right.
Today, he didn’t just get it wrong, but he got it laughably, embarrassingly wrong.
Firstly, looking at the two footed lunge on Tom Rogic which sent the Aussie off the field injured, Gallagher, while standing there watching Ramsay slide in two footed on Rogic, bizarrely claimed he ‘stayed on his feet’, and he got the ball so it wasn’t a red card.
I don’t know what planet Gallagher is on, but it was almost like he was reading off a script without even seeing the incident. I don’t know how he can possibly claim he stayed on his feet. Is he on the wind up?
And Gallagher knows fine well it doesn’t matter if you get the ball, if you go flying into a tackle with excessive force, it’s dangerous, reckless, and you injure the player you tackled to the extend he has to immediately be subbed off, then of course it’s a red card!
Then, on the Morelos penalty incident, he claimed he originally felt it should have been a free-kick in favour of Dundee, which he would have been correct with, but then he said he changed his mind as the Dundee player had a hold of Morelos shirt so it was a penalty.
Again, Gallagher knows fine well, if the Dundee player is originally fouled, you don’t just ignore it and only focus on the shirt pull after the fact, you blow up for the original foul.
It was just yet again more nonsense from Dermot Gallagher.
He needs to get his act together, because if he carries on like this, he is going to become a laughing stock.
