One Celtic Player In Particular Proved His Worth Today

Without doubt today was an excellent team performance.

We showed real togetherness, heart and determination, along with the winning mentality that we have shown all season, to come back from a goal down and turn it into a 2-1 victory before half time.

Arguably our best player today, and Cinch Man of the Match, was Celtic centre back Cameron Carter-Vickers.

He was immense today.

And in fairness, he has been pretty much all season.

Not only is he physically strong and powerful in the air and in the tackle, but he is excellent at playing the ball out from the back, which is exactly what Ange is looking for him to do.

He doesn’t just play easy side passes, he plays cutting passes through the opposition forward line at pace right into the feet of our midfield.

And now he is also adding goals to his game.

That’s four goals now he has for Celtic, including the winner today. Not bad for a centre back when we hardly ever play corners into the box.

His buy out clause is well known to be £6m.

From what I’ve read we are happy to pay that, and rightly so, but we were still negotiating over how many instalments that would be paid.

But after today’s result, and the guarantee of Champions League football within reach, I think it’s a deal we need to get wrapped up as soon as the league title and Champions League football is secured.

We can’t afford to let this deal drag out and the possibility of him having his head turned by other clubs.

Ultimately, if he wants to sty with us, he will, but let’s not wait under more options open up for him.
