Huge Advantage For Celtic As Sevco Forced To Play 120 Mins 3 Days Before Scottish Cup Semi Final

This is the main benefit of Celtic being out of Europe and Sevco still being in the Europa League.

Of course, in an ideal world the roles would be reversed, but without question, it does have it’s advantages.

Celtic have looked excellent of late, and there is absolutely no doubt at all that having a week long break between matches is very beneficial for our players.

Not only is it less demanding physically and mentally, but it gives us so much more time for Ange to work on things with the players, which he has admitted through the first half in the season in particular, that this was hard to do, given we were playing 3 games every 8 or so days, it meant the training sessions weren’t as valuable as he wanted them to be.

As I mentioned, it’s also mentally better for our players. They have a full week to look forward to the game, full focus one one match. They will be raring to go!

Compare both teams right now, we look far fresher. Pretty much all of our players are back from injury and available to play, while they keep getting injuries.

We are peaking while they are falling apart.

We’ve had another full week to prepare for this game on Sunday.

They will have two days. And today will mostly be a recovery session after playing 120 gruelling minutes last night against Braga.

They will be toast.

I think if we take the lead early, the score line could get scary for them.
