It’s fair to say that Liel Abada has been a revelation this season since joining Celtic this Summer from Israeli side Maccabi Petah Tivka.
The 20 year old is also Celtic’s top goal scorer this season on 15 goals, despite mostly playing off the right flank.
He has great pace and agility, but also has a great knack for getting himself into the box at the right time and getting on the end of crosses and through balls.
And for just over 5ft6, Abada is surprisingly good in the air and has scored some important headed goals this season.
Another important quality needed for his position on the right hand side of this Celtic team is to be able to provide quality passes and crosses to his team mates to help create goals, and with 11 assists this season, he’s also doing very well in that department, especially for a young player in his first season at the club.
One negative though about Abada’s performances this season is that he can drift out of games at time, like a lot of wingers really, but as he is only 20 years old, I’m sure he will be able to improve on this in the coming years to where he has a greater impact on a more consistent basis.
