“Bloody Brilliant!” – Celtic Manager’s Great Response To Champions League Question

Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou was speaking at his press conference today ahead of tomorrow afternoon’s title party at home to Motherwell.

Ange was asked about how excited he is to be leading Celtic into the UEFA Champions League next season, and competing with the biggest and best teams on the planet, on European club football’s grandest stage.

“Yeah, it’s brilliant” said Postecoglou.

“There were plenty of motivations to win the title this years, not least that we obviously didn’t win it last year, but knowing potentially that extra carrot was there was a massive motivator.”

“For me, I just felt that, it was a great way for us to accelerate our growth as a football club by being involved at that level, and getting exposed at that level, our players, our team, our football club, that’s the level we want to be at every year.”

“Having to qualify, particularly, you know, we all know the qualification process is not straight forward.”

“It effects your pre-season, it effects the time off the players have, there’s all these ramifications.”

“It effect your recruiting because you just don’t know. Are you recruiting for Champions League? Or are you not?”

“So, all these kind of things now, we can work with a lot more certainty in this off-season to give the players a break, have a really good pre-season, and also identify the players we want, knowing we’re going to be playing Champions League.”

“And besides all that mate, it’s going to be exciting.”

“Celtic Park, Champions League.”

“Bloody brilliant!”

I totally agree with Ange here, it is going to be so much better, knowing for sure that we are going to be playing in the Champions League next season, and I’m sure it will help massively recruitment wise.

And I can confirm Ange, it will be bloody brilliant, and I personally can’t wait!
