There were many, many lies told about Sevco’s trip to Seville for the Europa League Final.
That winning it would be a bigger achievement than winning the European Cup, that it would overshadow Celtic winning the league and cup double this season, and that there was no fan trouble over there and on the journeys over there.
One of the other big lies was the amount of travelling support that headed over there.
With ridiculous numbers flying about beforehand, from 350,000 to 1 million, the media finally settled on 100,000 to 150,000 Sevco supporters, with most saying 100,000 zombies and 50,000 Frankfurt fans.
Which is hilarious, considering every video you see of both sets of supporters, the Frankfurt fans far outweigh the Sevco fans. It isn’t even close.
Even in Sevco’s official fan zone, they only had around 20-25k in there, and the stadium seats 57,000!
Sky Sports then put up a video this afternoon of the Sevco players leaving their hotel in Seville, saying they were “greeted by fans”.
When I clicked on the video I honestly expected a large group of supporters giving the players a round of applause for their efforts, but hilariously, only 5 or 6 fans turned up to greet them!
Before the game they talked about these players going down in history as Legends, as Hall of Famers, as immortal!
And now their own supporters don’t want to know them!
Check out the embarrassing video and the reaction below.
