Well it doesn’t get much worse than that.
All credit to Ukraine, they showed their quality tonight and they definitely looked like they wanted it more than the Scottish players did tonight, which to me is unforgivable.
The players, and the manager, let the country down tonight.
I know it must be difficult, ending your season, having somewhat of a break but then all of a sudden you have to play a hugely important international game, against a good opponent. That definitely can’t be easy.
And most of the Scotland players not only looked physically drained tonight, but mentally drained too.
Even ever reliable players like McGinn, Robertson and McTominay were hopeless tonight. And I mean HOPELESS!
Steve Clarke got it wrong by starting Aaron Hickey in such a huge game. He was poor and was at fault for Ukraine’s second goal, where he was wrong side of his man and then didn’t even jump to challenge him in the air when the ball came in.
If that was Anthony Ralston there, he heads it away. No doubt about it. That is one of his strengths. For me this season Ralston has been the best Scottish right back, and for Clarke not to even have him on the bench tonight, was criminal.
As was not even having Turnbull on the bench, a player we were crying out for in the 2nd half to come on and dictate play, instead he stuck with McGinn, who actually got worse as the game went on. Missing sitters and over-hitting every corner he took. He look miles off the pace.
However, one of the few shining lights in Scotland’s performance was Celtic captain Callum McGregor, who once again took the game by the scruff of the neck, just as he did numerous times for Celtic last season, like in the crucial league game at Ibrox, and he pulled one back for Scotland, then shortly after ran back the length of the pitch to make a last ditch tackle to stop Ukraine from making it 3-1 and killing the game.
His performance tonight has many Scotland fans saying the same thing.

What do you Scotland supporting Scotland fans think?
Is it time for a change of captain moving forward for future campaigns?
For me it’s very doubtful that Robertson would ever be stripped, but I do agree that McGregor would make a better captain.
Whether you mind it or not, you wouldn’t see McGregor downing cans of beer in public just days before such crucial game for his country like Robertson has just been doing.
