The official dates that Champions League group stage matches will be played on this season have now been announced by UEFA.
Unlike every other season, where group stage matches are played all the way up until December, UEFA have now been forced to constrict matches into a much shorter timeframe, so to give a sufficient break before the winter World Cup starts in Qatar in November this year.
So this means that groups stage matches will start on 6/7th of September, and the 6th and final matches in each group will be concluded on the 1st/2nd of November, meaning the Champions League group stages will be completed within 8 weeks.
This is definitely something to look forward to in my opinion, as that means on three separate occasions, we will be playing Champions League matches in back to back weeks, whereas we would normally have to wait a minimum of two weeks between each time, sometimes even three.
