Celtic announced the fantastic news today that the club have signed USA international centre back Cameron Carter-Vickers on a permanent, 4 year deal.
Celtic fans have been eagerly awaiting the announcement for months, but Celtic were right to take their time, considering we had him on loan for the whole of last season anyway, including an option to buy at the end of it.
And that option to buy was triggered by Celtic, with CCV claiming he was ‘delighted’ to have signed on a permanent basis.
The fee is believed to be £6m, up to £10m including add ons, but who knows what they are and how likely it is that we will have to pay that additional amount, but it doesn’t really matter, as the most important thing is that we have secured a top class centre half for the next 4 seasons, and we know what we are getting with this lad and he fits in great with Ange’s style of play and has a fantastic relationship with his teammates.
And speaking of triggered, that’s exactly what Sevco fans seem to be after Celtic announced the news.
Particularly Joe Black, who spent months claiming and hinting that we weren’t able to afford CCV on a permanent deal, but as usual, poor wee Joe got it horribly wrong.
