It is being reported this afternoon by various outlets that Celtic have agreed a 1 year loan deal with an obligation to buy for £2.5m plus £1m in add-ons for Vitoria Guimaraes midfielder Alfa Semedo.
The player has only been at the Portuguese club one season, previously coming up through the ranks at Benfica and being loaned out to various clubs, including Reading, Nottingham Forrest and Espanyol.
There is some footage of him on Youtube, but not much at all from last season, which is frustrating as last season was apparently his best and this is why Ange is keen to bring him in.
There are a few compilation videos from 2-3 years ago, but some of them seem to show that he isn’t that good, which is worrying, considering it’s quite easy to make a player look good from their Youtube highlights.
But, Ange has a proven track record of bringing in players that improve us, and he also has a proven track record of making players better, so while on paper this transfer isn’t exciting many Celtic supporters, we should keep the faith that Ange knows what he’s doing.
