Sevco Make 3rd Signing Of Summer Window, And Not One Of Them Are Anything To Worry About

Sevco announced their third signing of the Summer transfer window this afternoon after Welsh striker Tom Lawrence signed on a free transfer from Derby County. He joins fellow striker Antonio Colak and former Hearts defender John Souttar.

Let’s take a look at each player.

Lawrence is a goal shy striker who scored a goal every 5 games at Derby County while playing in the Championship.

Previous to joining Derby, Lawrence was at Leicester City where he made a grand total of 3 appearances over 3 years, scoring 0 goals. He was loaned out to 4 different clubs during that period, scoring a total amount of 12 goals in 55 appearances, only really starting to hit the net when he joined Ipswich Town.

It’s fair to say, he isn’t very good!

Now, let’s take a look at their other new striker Antonio Colak, who was recently described as ‘easily replaceable’ at PAOK by one of their former player. Oh dear!

Colak looked good against them at Ibrox when he played for Malmo, taking his two goals well as he dumped Sevco out of the Champions League qualifiers.

In fairness, his scoring record has been pretty good over the years, but his goal record was only really good in the Croatian league and the Swedish league, since he stepped up to the Greek Super League with PAOK, he has struggled to make any real impact with then, scoring as measly 2 goals in 19 appearances.

And let’s face it, there was no one else interested it him and he if he was any good, PAOK wouldn’t be letting him go for £1.8m.

And finally, let’s take a look at former Hearts thug John Souttar, who will be lucky if he plays 50 games for Sevco over his 4 year contract, because the guy is constantly injured!

A problem that Sevco had last season was that they had to keep chopping and changing their centre half partnership through constant injuries and suspensions, and that is most likely going to repeat itself again this season with Souttar coming into the team, because the guy just can’t stay fit!

On top of that, probably their best player in Joe Aribo is away to Southampton, and the club will also be looking to get rid of Kent and Morelos this Summer to prevent them leaving for free as they are in the final year of their contracts.

It really isn’t looking too good for them!
