Celtic have today been linked with young PSG midfielder Edouard Michut.
Sky man Anthony Joseph reported this on his Twitter feed and transfer guru Fabrizo Romano claims that Celtic are in ‘advanced talks’ with PSG over a ‘permanent deal’.
He also claims we have submitted an opening bid of around 2.5m euros for the 19 year old, who has been called ‘the new Verratti’ and ‘the new Messi’ according to his Wikipedia page, although unlike Sevco fans who believe the guff about their new signing being faster than Usain Bolt, I would take those sort of name tags with a pinch of salt.
It is clear that the player is highly rated though, with GOAL rating him as the 42nd best young talent in Europe, stating in their piece on Michut that his ‘passing ability is among the best in Europe for players his age’ and that ‘Barcelona and Manchester City have both attempted to sign Michut in the past’.
Looking at him on Youtube, he seems a similar type of player to Callum McGregor, it terms of he seems fairy good in the tackle with good agility, but his main strength is his passing and his ability to take the ball in tight situations and maintain possession.
It would be interesting to see where Ange feels his best position is, as from what I can see he is more of an 8 or a 10, rather than a 6, which is what Ange has been looking for, so Michut could well be seen as a replacement for the recently departed Tom Rogic, but could well slot into McGregor’s position and we could move McGregor up one.
Celtic fans have been having a laugh in the Twitter comments in Anthony Joseph’s tweet, aiming digs at the recent comments from Sevco and the SMSM after what’s been said recently in their transfer dealings on Joe Aribo and Rabbi Mutondo.
