There has been concern over the welfare of former Celtic midfielder Tom Rogic in recent weeks, after the player pulled out of vital World Cup qualifying matches for Australia and has blanked their manager’s text messages.
People were worried that something had perhaps happened in Rogic’s personal life, but the Celtic manager has told people not to worry about the classy midfielder.
“I think Tom’s fine. Has anyone spoken to Tom? No one spoke to him when he was here for 10 years either, that’s Tom.”
“I’d be more concerned if he was out there talking to people. Leave him alone, he’s fine. He’ll get his next move done and I’m sure he’s in a great place.”
“As far as I know, and I haven’t been in contact with him, but the people I know say that he’s got no problems.”
This is great to hear from Ange, although it does still leave some mystery as to why he pulled out of those international games and didn’t reply back to his national team manager, maybe the player will reveal that in due course, but it’s good to know that he is alright.
It also puts to bed silly rumours that he could potentially be coming back to play for Celtic again next season after it was reported that he was training at Lennoxtown with the rest of the bhoys there.
You don’t make a decision to leave after a long time thinking about it, having an emotional farewell inside Celtic Park, leave the club, and then come back the next season. It was a silly line of thinking if anyone genuinely believed that could happen.
He will find a new club when the time is right, he will have plenty of offers, and big money offers at that, and he won’t be rushing into any hasty decisions.
