Fake News! Ange Dismisses Transfer Speculation

It was reported by Sky Sports News editor Lyall Thomas and reporter Anthony Joseph, along with transfer guru Fabrizio Romano this afternoon, that Celtic were in ‘advanced talks’ to sign PSG wonderkid Edouard Michut on a permanent basis.

Fans were excite about the news, as the 19 year old has been highly rated for years and was also a transfer target for Barcelona and Manchester City and has been likened to Marco Verratti.

However, it appears that this rumour isn’t true, as Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou has come out tonight to completely deny the rumours.

Speaking to the media after the friendly victory over Banik tonight, Ange was asked about the player directly, and here’s what he had to say:

“Yeah, good player, but no. I have an interest in every good footballer in the world, but there is a limited market which I can tap into.”

It’s very strange considering how confident all the reporters were today on the story.

Some fans are wondering if Ange is bluffing in order to have a better chance of signing the player and not alerting other potential suitors for the youngster, but it doesn’t really seem his style.

It is interesting though that Ange has seen the player and says he’s good, so it is likely at the very least that he was a player that we were looking at, but perhaps for some reason we have decided against the move.
