Fabrizio Romano tweeted earlier this evening that Sevco have Liverpool flop Ben Davies lined up as a replacement for the departing Calvin Bassey, as he gets set to join Ajax in the 3rd biggest transfer in Scottish football history, behind Moussa Dembele’s move to Lyon and Kieran Tierney’s move to Arsenal, both from Celtic.
The fee is reported to be £4m, with Liverpool fans delighted that they are getting £4m for the player who has not played a single minute for the club and only cost them £500k when he was signed in the winter transfer window in February 2021.
Davies was brought in to cover the extensive injuries that Liverpool had to the backline at that time, but after Jurgen Klopp witnessed Davies in training, it was clear that he couldn’t be trusted to play for the club and was shipped out to Sheffield Utd on loan to play in the English Championship, where he played at a level more suited to his abilities.
Sevco fans are of course delighted about this potential signing, for the sole reason that Neil Lennon tired to sign the player while he was Celtic manager, with the player apparently close to joining, before Liverpool came in and understandably, Davies decided to stay down South.
As I wrote in an earlier piece, Sevco fans are extremely fond of lying, even when it is clear in black and white that it is a lie.
For example, this fool on Follow Follow decided to lie and say the he has always been impressed with Davies when he watched him play for Liverpool, even when he hasn’t played a single minute for them!
With no other supporters to try to gloat over on Follow Follow, Sevco fans didn’t need to go along with the lie, and so called the poster out on his bs, before he eventually changed his story to say he got mixed up with a different player.
