Ex Ibrox Player Makes Surprising Celtic Title Admission

Regular BBC Sportscene pundit Richard Foster is well known for sticking up for his old club and making negative comments about Celtic and our players.

One of his recent ridiculous comments was to lay the blame at Japanese midfielder Yosuke Ideguchi’s feet for being the victim of a horror tackle by an Alloa Athletic player which left him out injured for several months last season.

That’s most likely why he keeps appearing on the BBC as he shares their pro Ibrox views.

So it was very surprising that Foster is actually predicting CELITC to win the league this season.

Here is what he had to say last night on the Clyde Scottish football podcast, starting off with his side’s return leg against Union, which was also surprisingly honest from Forster, when asked if his former side can overturn the 2-0 away defeat to Union tonight:

“No.” said Foster

“I think they’ll score 2 but Union will score”

He was then asked if his old side would win the league, which Foster replied:

“No. Celtic.”

“I think Celtic, for me, they’ve strengthened from a position of strength.”

“I think Rangers have strengthened as well but I just think in the games where teams are really stuffy and hard to break down, I think Celtic just have a better knack of getting a result.”

When asked by the host if Celtic have an edge over their rivals, Foster replied:

“Yeah, but I could be wrong.”

So there you go. A bit of honest punditry from an Ibrox leaning former player, not like them!

Good job I was laying down reading this. Don’t expect his sudden hit of realism to be contagious though.
