Fabrizio Romano Puts Celtic Transfer Speculation To Bed

One of the positions that Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou is reportedly looking to strengthen in this transfer window is in the striking department.

Yes, we already have Kyogo and Giakoumakis, but after they both suffered long term injuries last season, it seems that big Ange is looking to have another quality option to fall back on should the same thing happen again this season.

One of those reported striking targets was Marseille forward Bamba Deing, with French media reporting that Celtic are one of the clubs interested in the Senegalese international, which was then subsequently reported by the SMSM.

But it looks like Celtic will no longer be in the running for Deing, if we even were in the first place, after Fabrizio Romano reported this morning that his price tag has been set at 15m euros (£12.7m) and that a couple of English Premier League clubs are interested in signing the player.

Celtic absolutely will not be spending that type of money, especially on what would essentially be a third choice striker, and of course we wouldn’t be able to compete with the wages on offer from EPL clubs.

So I think it’s fair to say that puts and end to that Celtic transfer rumour.
