I wrote yesterday that as much as the SMSM and some Celtic fan sites may already be counting money we may receive from former Celtic left back Kieran Tierney being sold on to Manchester City, the Celtic board certainly wouldn’t be.
The latest rumours were that Manchester City were interested in taking Tierney to the Etihad stadium in a £50m deal, after selling Zinchenko to Arsenal and now on the lookout for a new left back.
I wrote that these stories come into the media every single transfer window without fail, how we constantly see written that Celtic are in line for a windfall from Tierney being sold on or Moussa Dembele.
We hear it every window and it doesn’t happen.
And now yet again, it proves to be more false hope, after Manchester City have now decided instead on signing Sergio Gomez from Anderlecht for £11m and ruling out signing another left back, stating in the media:
“That’s why the moment we decide for Sergio, the debate for another left-back was over.”
I’m sure it will be Dembele’s turn again next…
