So, Barry Ferguson has stated in his newspaper column this morning that “Gio has Celtic boss Postecoglou sussed” and “has all sorts of ways to beat him”.
And what exactly is Ferguson basing this wild assumption off of?
He is basing this off the view that Rangers should have won the 1-1 draw at Celtic Park at the start of May in the league.
Remember, this was a match that Rangers had to win to have any chance of retaining their league title and they couldn’t do it.
Yet, this 1-1 draw in a must win game has Ferguson believing that Wee Gio has Big Ange sussed? Deary me.
And the thing is, I don’t think Ferguson even truly believes this guff, because this is what he says towards the end of his article:
“What you need is a determination not to lose at any costs and Arfield brings that in spades. Look, even if Rangers do end up on the wrong end of a beating and fall five points behind, this league title is far from over.”
And then followed by this
“The mindset has to be to come away with something, even if it’s just a point.“
So despite his claims that Van Bronckhorst has us sussed and can beat us in many different ways, he says the players should have the mindset of “not to lose” and come away with at least “a point”, while also admitting that his side could “end up on the wrong end of a beating and fall five points behind”.
It is absolutely laughable, Ferguson knows fine well that he’s talking nonsense about Rangers having the beating of Celtic, and if his side do come away with victory, he will be as surprised as anyone because without a doubt, Celtic are a far stronger side with a far better manager.
