Ex Rangers and current Kilmarnock player Kyle Lafferty has disgracefully been caught on video yelling sectarian abuse at a Celtic fan.
The fan posed for a pic/video with Lafferty, but then harmlessly chanted “Up the Celts”.
Lafferty began to walk away in disgust, but then turned to the fan and shouted “Pack of Fenian bastards!”
I’m not a fan of these types of set-ups from fans. I think it’s childish and we typically see Rangers fans do it to the likes of Scott Brown and other current or former Celtic players.
Every video I’ve seen the player has just walked away, which is the right thing to do.
If you want to give a bit of stick back, I’ve no problem with that either, but it is totally unacceptable to throw back a sectarian/anti Irish racist insult.
There would be absolute uproar if it was racist abuse towards a black fan for example, and in my opinion, all racism should be treated equally, and people should be just as outraged at anti Irish racism and anti Catholic sectarianism.
Bu this is Scotland, so sadly, I expect nothing to be done whatsoever, because it seems this is acceptable in this country.
Check out the disgraceful video below.
