Celtic again show the mark of true champions to come back from drawing 2-2 at home to Dundee Utd to snatch two stoppage time goals to seal all three points.
Despite the best efforts of the VAR team who along with Dundee Utd almost took two points off Celtic this afternoon, we never gave up and showed that we will not let any team or any group of officials take this title from us.
I’ve had stuff on today so only managed to catch about 75% of the game.
I know there was a VAR check for a Dundee Utd red card that wasn’t given that I haven’t seen yet, but I did see the penalty and subsequent booking given against Bernabei thanks to someone uploading a clip to Twitter, and I have to say it was absolutely outrageous.
I was actually still watching the video and waiting for the penalty incident to be shown as on first viewing I didn’t believe for one second that was what the penalty was actually awarded for!
And from what I have read it was Nick Walsh that recommended to give a penalty in the VAR studio and then the ref looked at it and decided to overturn his original decision not to give it.
If true, I am extremely worried about this individual officiating our matches in future, especially after his antics against Hearts.
God help us if he gets given a Glasgow derby fixture.
It just makes the victory and three points even more special though, and even better that our rivals got their hopes up that we had blown it!
Check out the thrill and the agony below.
Btw, how do they manage to spell “blow” wrongly on two separate occasions two different ways!?
