Video: Angry Union Bears Confront Players Outside McDiarmid Park After Falling Further Behind Celtic

A video has been put online of vulgar Ibrox fan group the Union Bears lining up outside McDiarmid Park this afternoon to verbally lambast the Rangers players after a humiliating 2-1 defeat away to St Johnstone.

The loss means that the Ibrox side are now seven points behind league leaders Celtic, and leaves manager Giovanni Van Bronckhorst holding on to his position as Rangers manager by a thread.

It’s unclear to me exactly what the fan is saying to Tavernier in the video, who is most likely full of drink and drugs, but he does seem to shout “arsehole ye” at near the start of the video, then something about the fans not being appreciated and then something about Arfield and Kamara and “the same every week”.

There was also a visible ditch in the video, but unlike Pedro back in the day, wee Gio was nowhere to be seen!

I did watch their game today and St Johnstone scored two absolute belters.

Rangers were all over them and had umpteen corners in the first half but just couldn’t get an opener.

Then towards the end of the first half St Johnstone actually had an attack and it ended up with James Brown scoring a thunderbolt into the roof of the net.

McCoist said on commentary that both goals were against the run of play, but the second definitely wasn’t as St Johnstone had several attacks and looked like they were going to grab a second before they eventually did, with Nicky Clark striking the ball at an impossible angle from the low cross in and again smashing it into the roof of the net past the hapless McGregor.

Rangers got one back that the St Johnstone keeper should have saved with his foot but he tried to dive for it and save it with his hands and it flew past him.

But despite playing well over the 4 mins of added time, Rangers were unable to get a late equaliser with the matching ending 2-1 to St Johnstone and Rangers seven points behind Celtic.

As you can imagine, their fans were not best pleased at the full time whistle!
