It isn’t even the end of November yet and already our rivals are in meltdown over one of Celtic’s January signings – and he hasn’t even signed yet!
It is clear Canadian right-back and World Cup start Alistair Johnston appears to be a very good player, so much so that our rivals who have watched him played admit they are “gutted” that Celtic appear to be on the verge of signing him.
Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano tweeted earlier today that “Celtic have reached a verbal agreement with Montreal” and as I wrote about here, Johnston “couldn’t wipe the smile off his face” when asked by another journalist about his proposed move to Celtic: Canadian Journalist Reveals Class Alistair Johnston Insight That Celtic Fans Will Love! – Champions 67

Johnston is next in action as Canada take on Croatia on Sunday, and ironically, he will line up against current Celtic right-back Josip Juranovic, so it will be interesting to see how each player performs and also if they have any interaction after the game with each other.
But one thing is clear, our rivals are not happy one bit that we appear to be getting another quality player like Johnston in.
