ITK Celtic Journalist Gives Exciting Celtic Transfer Update

We are still just under a month away from the January transfer window opening and already Celtic have officially announced two signings.

Japanese centre back Yuki Kobayashi was the first to be announced and was unveiled in a Celtic Park press conference just a few days ago. He will now have a full month of training and preparations with his new teammates before he can officially be registered to play from January 1st onwards.

His signing was followed shortly after by Canada World Cup right back Alistair Johnston, who is taking a short break before he jets over to Glasgow in a week’s time to join up with the Celtic team.

Rumours have also been swirling over the last few days that Celtic are keen on a number of attacking players, most notably, South Korea’s World Cup striker Cho Gue-sung and attacking midfielder Mohamed Magdy (Afsha) out in Egypt.

And just this evening, Sky Sports journalist and Celtic fan Anthony Joseph has confirmed the exciting news that Celtic are indeed interested in both of these players.

But not just that, he has said that Celtic have actually been “scouring the globe for talent, with scouts monitoring leagues in countries including South Korea, Iran and UAE this year” and that “it’s understood a number of targets from Middle East, Asia and also North Africa have emerged.”

It really is fantastic that Celtic are broadening their horizons in the transfer market and it’s all thanks to Ange Postecoglou, because he knows there is talent in these mostly untapped markets and he is not afraid to bring players from these places in, because he knows with his coaching and managerial ability, that he can make them a success at Celtic.
