Alistair Johnston Deletes Cryptic Instagram Post Exciting Celtic Fans

Celtic’s new Canadian right-back, Alistair Johnston, is currently enjoying a well deserved break after the World Cup before he joins up with his new teammates at Lennoxtown.

The defender is on holiday in Italy, where he uploaded a picture of himself next to Lake Como.

He captioned the photo “So from what I’m being told… this ISN’T Paradise??” obviously a hint towards his new home inside the Paradise in the East End of Glasgow.

But, this is where the story get’s interesting, former Celt and Montreal teammate of Johnston, Victor Wanyama, then left a comment saying “Paradise is where you will be playing” along with a four leaf clover emoji.

To which Johnston then replied “Where ‘we’ will be playing…” alongside the ‘eyes’ emoji and a four leaf clover.

That message sent Celtic fans who clocked it wild, asking if it was true that Wanyama was indeed coming back to Celtic and praying that it was indeed the case.

However, Johnston has since deleted the comment.

Obviously, I’d just be guessing as to why he deleted it, but you do have to wonder why he wrote that in the first place. Is there talks being had to negotiate a deal for Big Vic’s return?

From what I gather, he doesn’t look the most mobile anymore from those that watch the MLS, but perhaps playing in a better team such as Celtic, he would look more confortable?

I’ve always thought that Ange wouldn’t be interested in Wanyama, because despite him being a very strong defensive midfielder, he isn’t the type of player to play that pivot roll that Ange likes, someone who can take the ball in tight areas and play it out of defence at speed the way McGregor does.

But who knows? Maybe we will see Big Vic in the hoops once again.

Check out the now deleted message below.
