One In And One Out For Celtic?

Celtic have tonight been linked with a move for Tunisia’s standout midfielder in the World Cup, Aissa Laidouni, with the hoops battling it out with German Bundesliga side Wolfsburg for the player’s signature.

The story originated in France and has since found it’s way to Glasgow, with the fee to prise the tough tackling midfielder away from current side Ferencvaros believed to be around £3.5m for the soon to be 26 year old.

Of course, Celtic have also bee linked with another midfielder in the last couple of days, Egyptian Mohamed Magdy, who currently plays for Al Ahly, and is believed to be going for around £4m.

I must admit, the constant link with midfield players had me thinking that perhaps someone like Matt O’Riley would be off in January, and this was Ange looking to get his replacement in the door before letting him go.

But, it may not be Matt O’Riley who is heading out the Parkhead exit door, but his teammate Yusuke Ideguchi.

The Scottish Sun are reporting tonight that Ange Postecoglou is willing to let the injury prone Japanese midfielder go in order to make room for incoming transfers, with multiple clubs back in Japan keen on making a deal.

Unfortunately for ‘Guchi’, it just hasn’t worked out for him at Celtic.

He wasn’t given any real game time early on and then when he did play, he was badly injured in a ridiculous assault from an Alloa play in a cup game.

He then somehow injured himself entering the new season by colliding with a training dummy in pre-season, only recently getting back to fitness and being available for Celtic’s last few games.

He looked like a tidy player when we did see him, but he also didn’t look anything special either, and Ange will have seen enough of him in training to see that he most likely isn’t up to the required standard.
