Amongst the mayhem of the Glasgow derby yesterday where Celtic retained our 9 point lead at the top of the Scottish Premiership after a 2-2 draw at Ibrox, there was a bit of transfer news that leaked out.
John Birkley, who has 15.4k followers on Twitter, tweeted that Celtic had rejected a £13m offer from Chelsea for Croatian World Cup star Josip Juranovic.

However, Scottish journalist Mark Hendry, who appears to be quite “in the know” when it comes to Celtic, late last night dismissed that report.
He claims that Celtic HAVE NOT received any approach for Juranovic from Chelsea and that “reports of a £13m bid are wide of the mark.”
However, he does claim there IS interest in the player from Italy, which we can assume are just verbal enquiries at this point in time, rather than offers on the table.
There have bee previous reports that Roma and Torino were interested in taking the player to Serie A, while more recent reports suggest cash rich Monza are interested in the Celtic star as they look to bring in quality signings to help secure European football.
After Juranovic’s performance yesterday, I think all Celtic fans just want this uncertainty to come to an end ASAP, so if it’s true that official bids have yet to be made, hopefully now with the transfer window officially open, they aren’t too far away.
