Espanyol Make Bid For Celtic Star

After weeks of speculation, and on the 6th day of the January transfer window being officially open, it seems as though we are finally starting to see movement for Celtic’s Croatian World Cup star Josip Juranovic.

It was reported last night by Italian sources that Monza had made Celtic an opening bid, a ridiculous offer to take the player on loan for the rest of this season, with an an obligation to buy for an insulting £6.2m.

And today, it is now being reported in Italy that La Liga side Espanyol have made a straight offer to buy bid for Juranovic, with the report saying the Spanish side “hope to blow other clubs out the water” with their opening offer.

The report doesn’t state the value of the offer, but we can assume it must be larger than the reported £6.2m that Monza are offering.

Celtic are obviously looking to cash in on Juranovic, but just because we already have his replacement in in Alistair Johnston, doesn’t mean we will just accept low-ball offers for a player that shone against Brazil recently and was one of the outstanding right-back’s of the World Cup.

Offers will need to be serious, of Celtic won’t budge.
