Could New Jeonbuk Signing Open Door For Celtic Transfer?

As we know, Celtic are on the verge of completing the signing of South Korea striker Oh Hyeon-gyu, with the striker having reportedly completed a medical with Celtic and having been pictured in Glasgow last night.

However, according to some “in the know” people, the signing of Oh does not mean that Celtic are no longer interested in signing fellow Korean striker Cho Gue-sung, despite what you may have have read in the SMSM.

Apparently, Both Cho and Oh have been targeted for several months now, and we always wanted to bring BOTH to Celtic, most likely one this window and the other in the summer.

The only thing that has changed is that we expected Cho to be easier to get in the current window, but his two World Cup goals and subsequent attention from other clubs, as well as his new found fame in Korea, has thrown a spanner in the works and made things more difficult.

From what I understand, an offer from Celtic is still on the table for Cho, and he is still undecided on his future and whether to make the move to Europe now or in the summer.

It is believed that should Cho decide to accept Celtic’s offer, his current club Jeonbuk would not stand in his way.

Previously, they said that they did not want to sell him in January as they wouldn’t be able to get a replacement in on time, which I don’t really understand as from what I can see, their league doesn’t start back until 25th February.

But they may be even more willing to sell Cho now, and in fact, this could well be an indication that Cho has indeed decided to move in January, because Jeonbuk are on the verge of completing the signing of Brazilian striker Andre Luis from Corinthians for around £500k.

One to keep an eye on ad just over a week remains left in the window.
