It was yet another dominant display from Celtic this afternoon with an extremely comfortable 4-0 victory against Aberdeen at Celtic Park.
This first 20 minutes in particular were peak Angeball, where we started at 100mph and put relentless pressure on the Dons, which resulted in 2 goals in the opening 13 minutes, which basically killed off the game before it really even got started!
Our intensity did die down quite drastically after that, we were still attacking and creating chances, but the speed of play and attacking aggressive slowed down, but understandably so, considering the game was virtually won already, with Aberdeen offering absolutely nothing in attack and Celtic having a Cup final against ‘Rangers’ to think about coming up next.
The intensity did pick up again in the final quarter of the game after our substitutes came on, and in particular Sead Haksabanovic coming on and posing a big threat for us, and it was his ball fired into the path of Abada to brilliantly slot home that capped off our 4-0 win after captain Callum McGregor opened the scoring only 2 minutes in.
But it was our midfield maestro, Reo Hatate, who scored two wonderful goals, one in each half, that has Celtic fans purring.
Watching the game, I thought to myself that this is the best player in the country right now. He is playing unbelievably well at the moment in pretty much ever game.
And it seems many Celtic fans agree with that judging by the Twitter reaction below.
I don’t think the comments saying that “it isn’t even close” are fair, because that’s disrespectful to his fantastic teammates at Celtic, but I definitely agree that as of right now, he is the best in the country.
