Former Hearts thug John Souttar was made out to be the best centre back in the country after ‘Rangers’ had agreed to sign him on a pre-contract from the Edinburgh side.
And after almost a full season at the club, he has spent the vast majority of the time being injured, and when he does actually play he gets torn to pieces by opposition strikers and makes calamitous errors.
Remember their first game of the season where he got absolutely rag-dolled by Livi strike Joel Nouble? We didn’t see him for months after that after he picked up some mysterious injury.
He’s only recently been eased back into the side and then had to start against Celtic on Saturday due to the absence of vice captain Connor Goldson.
He was absolutely diabolical on Saturday.
He gifted Kyogo far too much space in the box fir his first goal and then allowed him to turn and get his shot away to fire the ball past Allan McGregor in goals.
It was then his terrible pass back to McGregor which allowed Jota to get in the end of it and brilliantly round the keeper who looked like he was running through treacle, to roll the ball into the net from a tight angle.
The funniest thing is they let their best defender in Leon Balogun leave on a free in the summer after deeming him too old for a one year contract extension while they dished out multiple extensions to OAP’s like McGregor, Davies and Arfield.
I wonder if Clyde SSB pundit Roger Hannah still thinks Souttar will be Player of the Year this season!?
