Remember when our rivals were laughing at us that they signed English defender Ben Davies from Liverpool for £4m after we were interested in him the season before?
They were laughing that he rejected us and went to them.
Well they certainly aren’t laughing anymore! And definitely not after realising Liverpool have robbed them of £4m!
What a hopeless defender he is. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again but it’s guys like Davies that just prove that the English Championship is the most overrated league in the world.
The English media would have you believe it sits just outside the top five leagues in the world, but so many players come up to Scotland from that league and get given a huge wake-up call, and Ben Davies is certainly one of them.
Thank God he chose Liverpool over us when Lennon wanted to sign him.
Sure, we would have gotten him on a free, but still, we would have wasted plenty on him in terms of wages and it’s so much better that our rivals are now the ones that have wasted that money, not just in wages, but an extra £4m op top of that!
And it’s not just the financial impact, it’s the howlers he is making at the goals they are conceding because he is so utterly useless.
He gave Kyogo all the space in the world to turn and shoot for his opening goal against them last weekend and then assisted Jota for Kyogo’s 2nd.
His defending for St Mirren’s second goal at the weekend was beyond pathetic.
He literally refused to attempt to tackle Curtis Main running down the wing and let him get his cross in which eventually lead to a corner and St Mirren scoring from it.
