Best Twitter Reactions As Celtic Beat ‘Rangers’ To Set Up Historic Treble

Celtic are now on the verge of an historic 8th domestic treble after beating ‘Rangers’ 1-0 in the Scottish Cup semi-final at Hampden Park this afternoon.

Celtic will now play Inverness Caley Thistle in the final on 3rd June after they defeated Falkirk 3-0 in yesterday’s other semi-final, and we are of course only 3 points away from clinching our second league title in a row.

It was a real old school battle as referee Don Robertson, who stepped in to replace Willie Collum after he was injured in the warm up, let a lot of hard tackles fly.

Celtic were the better team in the first half and looked by far the most likely team to score, and we managed to open the scoring just a few minutes before half time as Maeda was brilliantly alert to pounce on a loose ball as the Rangers defence stood sleeping and then played a beautiful ball into the box for Jota to head home unmarked inside the box.

Rangers were probably the better team second half and looked more threatening after brining on Fashion Sakala for Ryan Kent, who was once again pocketed by Celtic right-back Alistair Johnston.

But it was Sakala who squandered their best opportunity of the match, missing an open goal and hitting the side netting, just like he did against us in the league cup final after his big talk in the press before the game.

They did have other attacks on our goal, but man of the match Cameron Carter-Vickers put in a heroic performance in defence and simply refused to allow us to concede.

Beale is now under huge pressure as it looks like he is not the right man to lead the Ibrox club forward into next season, as he once again got his starting XI wrong as Kent and Morelos were picked to start once again despite being utterly useless for them for several months now.
