Fabrizio Romano Interesting Update On Spurs Manager Search

Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou has been heavily linked with a move to Spurs in the last few days, with the latest reports in the Daily Record claiming that Daniel Levy is putting together a tempting package to offer Scotland’s Manager of the Year.

Ange answered on the speculation when interviewed by Sky Sports yesterday, but was non-comital on his future.

This has lead many Celtic fans to worry that he is off in the summer.

In my opinion though, he answered the same way he always does and has done in the past when linked with other EPL clubs such as Leeds.

His reply was almost word for word what he said back then and he never went to Leeds, so that gives me hope.

I also believe he is talking like he has unfinished business at Celtic, he keeps talking about us getting stronger next year and his excitement to get another crack at the Champions League.

I just feel like he wants at least one more season with us to see how much he can improve the team and how well he can do in Europe.

Perhaps he will feel like Spurs in the best club he can get to in England from Scotland and that this opportunity might just be too good for him to turn down.

If that is the case I will wish him well and thank him for everything he has done for our club, but I really do feel that he loves our club and wants to continue working here next season.

There are other candidates on Spurs’ list, namely Brendan Rodgers, who interestingly, is the bookies favourite (Skybet) at 5/2, while Ange is the 2nd favourite at 3/1.

One of the worrying things is however, is that apparently De Zerbi, Slot, and Nangelsmann have all rejected the job, so it seems like even if Ange wasn’t originally their No.1 choice, he could well become it.

I personally hope Rodgers is given the job and I’m optimistic that he is the favourite with the bookies and also out of work and is a big name in the EPL which will hopefully make them edge towards appointing the former Liverpool, Leicester and Celtic boss.

And just a couple of hours ago, transfer guru Fabrizio Romano gave an update on Spurs’ search for a new manager, and he does confirm the Postecoglou is most definitely a candidate.
