Major Odds Swing As Rodgers Becomes Bookies Favourite For Next Celtic Manager

In a very interesting development through Sunday night into Monday morning, former Celtic manger Brendan Rodgers has now been installed as the bookies favourite to replace the departing Ange Postecoglou.

Ever since bookmakers Paddy Power put up the odds for the next Celtic manager over the weekend, Rodgers had been an outside bet at 9/1, fifth favourite with David Moyes installed as the early favourite at 10/3.

But through the night, he has now sky-rocketed up to the No.1 favourite at 5/4.

Rodgers surprisingly attended the Scottish Cup semi-final between Celtic and ‘Rangers’ recently as a guest, surprising many as he left the club under such a dark cloud.

The majority of Celtic fans have still not forgiven him for leaving for Leicester City half way through the season after saying he was staying at Celtic to win 10 in a row, especially after how disastrous that final season was under Neil Lennon.

And many supporters would definitely be unhappy to see him back as Celtic manager and I’m sure he will get a lot of stick from supporters, at least to begin with.

To add fuel to the Rodgers speculation, he just recently bought a £3m house in Milngavie and has apparently been telling people he is keen to go back to Celtic as he has “unfinished business” at the club.

And on top of this, multiple people have said that Scott Brown was in a Florida Celtic bar to watch the Scottish Cup Final on Saturday and was openly telling people that Rodgers would be replacing Ange, and of course Brown has a great relationship with Rodgers to this day and admits to texting him for advice, so it’s definitely possible he’s been told something.

I wrote the other day on Twitter that people should start coming around to the idea of Kevin Muscat as manager, who has replaced Ange at two previous clubs and done a brilliant job by all accounts, as I believe Ange will have recommended him to the Celtic board.

The following posts on KDS do backup this theory, but also say that while Ange did suggest Muscat, the board prefer Rodgers.
