Celtic Have £4m Bid Rejected For Danish Striker

It appears Celtic have narrowed down their striker targets in the remaining 4 days of the summer transfer window and have set their sights on Brondby striker Mathias Kvistgaarden.

The Danish Under 21 international, who is 21 years old and 5 ft 7, has been valued in the media at around £6m.

And these reports might just be accurate, because it has now been confirmed that Celtic have had a £4m bid rejected for the player.

Twitter account Everything Celtic, has quoted Danish outlet B.T. as the source of the news story and tweeted:

Celtic have had a bid of £4M rejected by Bröndby for Danish striker Mathias Kvistgaarden.

Despite Celtic indicating they would submit a larger offer Bröndby continued to refuse the sale.

So with Brondby refusing to sell the player who is contracted to them until 2027, Celtic will either need to call their bluff and submit a bigger offer and see if they are true to their word or move on to other targets.

Personally, I would like Celtic to go for a more experienced player and a more physical presence up front.

With Oh injured, there is no one else in the team with similar attributes as him, but if Kyogo gets injured, at least Maeda or Abada can fill in up front if you are looking for a player with similar speed and agility.

Possibly why we went for Palma instead.
Wouldn’t be reading to much into it, as far more important issues within the squad need to be addressed before the window closes.
Where is the CB and still 2 short of homegrown players short for a CL squad now, or have we given up on the competition before the draw is even made?
