“Clear Dive!” – Celtic Hero Sutton Hits Out At Rangers Cheat McCausland

Another domestic fixture and another game where ‘Rangers’ try to cheat their way to victory with the help of the Scottish officials against Livingston this afternoon.

Ibrox younger Ross McCausland committed on of the most blatant dives you will ever seen as he falls over before the contact from the Livingston goalie ever comes, yet the referee gave a penalty and VAR agreed with his decision, despite all the replays showing it was a clear dive.

And Celtic hero Chris Sutton made his feelings clear on the little cheat and the decision to award a penalty, which the hapless Tavernier put wide:

“It’s a clear dive.”

“I do not understand how the VAR official isn’t talking to the referee.”

“He goes down so early, just watch this angle, he’s already on his way down McCausland, who’s had a good first half, he’s been a threat.”

“But that is a dive. He should be cautioned.”

“That should never have been a penalty.”

And James McFadden also chimed in:

“Yeah, it was a dive.”

“I don’t know way, when they’ve checked it (VAR) they don’t overturn the decision.”

“Tavernier misses the penalty who’s normally so good from the spot, so it’s probably a bit of justice for Livi at that point.”
