This news will no doubt come as a major relief for a lot of Celtic supporters this afternoon who checked out the stats and watched clips of Vitoria Guimaraes midfielder Alfa Semedo.
It was reported yesterday by Football Scotland that the player was on the verge of a year long loan spell to Celtic, with an obligation to buy, plus add ons, totalling ยฃ3.5m.
The news left Celtic fans scratching their heads, as for many, the player doesn’t look good enough to play for Celtic.
But just an hour ago, Football Scotland have now reported that the deal is not happening.
They claim that Celtic have not, and will not make a bid for the player.
They go on to say that Ange Postecoglou is indeed looking for a midfield enforcer, but Semedo definitely is not on the list.
Many Celtic fans will be pleased to hear that!
