Celtic Manager’s Update Confirms The SMSM Have Been Fear Mongering As Usual

Fresh back from his trip home to Australia to promote the Sydney Super Cup, Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou gave his pre-match press conference before the visit of Motherwell to Paradise tomorrow afternoon.

For the last week to ten days, and fresh off a 2-0 loss to St Mirren, our first in the league in a year, the Scottish mainstream media have been trying their best to panic the Celtic supporters with constant stories on an “injury-crisis” at Parkhead.

CCV, Starfelt, Giakoumakis, Abada, Maeda, Haksabanovic and Turnbull have all been included in the injury pile up, and I’ve possibly missed one or two out as it’s so hard to keep track of as it seems after every international fixture there was another player that would be on the Celtic treatment table.

Yet, despite the fear being spread, the only player who came back from the international break and still has “a bit of a niggle” and won’t be fit to face Motherwell is Giorgos Giakoumakis.

One single player added to CCV and Starfelt, who were already injured before the break, with Ange saying Starfelt should be back in a “couple of weeks” and they’ll assess CCV after the weekend to see if he’ll be fit to play Leipzig midweek.

So despite their best efforts to try to convince the Celtic supporters that we are in a desperate injury crisis, and no doubt their hopes of this being true, Ange has come out and put the media straight.

Unfortunately for our rivals and the Scottish hacks, it is going to take more than two or three injuries to stop Celtic from retaining the league title this season.
