New Queen of the South manger and former Livingston assistant, Marvin Bartley, was speaking on Clyde SSB tonight and was full of praise for Ange Postecoglou’s Celtic side ahead of Sunday’s League Cup Final against ‘Rangers’.
Bartley, who joined Hibs as a player in 2015, competed against Brendan Rodgers invincible side, but he admits this current Celtic team under Postecoglou, is the best he has seen.
“Celtic’s football for me is fantastic” stated Bartley.
“I’ve been up here for eight years now and I prefer this style that Celtic are playing to any other style that any other manager has had them playing.”
“It’s the best I’ve seen. It really, really is.”
“I really enjoy watching Celtic in the way they go about their business and as a neutral, it’ fantastic to watch.”
Marvin is anticipating a close game on Sunday, and is on the fence about the result, but did admit if both teams play to their maximum potential, there is only one winner.
“I’d have to say Celtic.”
“If both teams play to their best. If both sets of players get 10/10.”
“For me, at this moment in time, if both teams were to perform to their best, I think it will be Celtic.”
Like I’m sure all Celtic supporters will, I have to agree with Marvin here.
I certainly won’t be making any bold predictions or cocky statements before the final, because it’s a one off game at a neutral venue and anything can happen on the day, but we do have the better players, the better manager and play the best football.
If Celtic turn up firing on al cylinders and play to the level we know we can, then there is only going to be one winner.
