Barry Ferguson Admits To Celtic Pain under Postecoglou

Former Rangers player Barry Ferguson has been very candid about the misery this current Celtic side is inflicting on him under Ange Postecoglou.

Speaking on Go Radio ahead of Sunday’s League Cup Final, Ferguson admitted:

“Postecoglou – he’s starting to do my head in!”

“They are relentless at this moment in time and you see the changes he makes. That’s been the difference.”

“If they [Celtic] are not having the best of games he can go and make a triple change and when these subs come on they don’t make the team any weaker. That’s the strength he’s got in his squad – real quality. You have to respect the job he’s done over the last 18 months or so. The quality of players he’s brought in has impressed me.”

“Its two teams that are in fine form, both attacking minded so I think it will be a cracker. Rangers really need to match their energy levels which is something about Celtic that impresses me. Their quality has been there but their energy levels is what needs to be matched.”

“There will be goals in it [final] for the simple fact that both of them play so openly…come Sunday whoever turns up on the day and produces the goods will win the game.”

Ferguson is right. Celtic have such fantastic quality throughout this squad that we can bring on multiple subs after an hour or so and freshen up the team with no noticeable drop in quality, and in fact, we typically add more goals once these guys come on.

It is very hard to deal with if you are an opposition player or manager in this country.

It’s testament to the fantastic job Ange Postecoglou has done with his recruitment since taking over the club 18 months ago.
