“We Never Stop.”
That has been this Celtic side’s motto ever since manager Ange Postecoglou passionately instructed those famous words to his players at Lennoxtown in the summer of 2021.
And it has remained our motto because this team keep showing us that they fully embody that powerful phrase.
Yet again it was on show today.
When the ‘Rangers’ players switched off and lost concentration because they half expect a free-kick to be given for a foul on Celtic, and they probably half wanted a rest as well in what had been a non-stop first half, Celtic weren’t interested in stopping to rest.
“”We never stop!”
“We never stop!”
“We’ll stop at half time and we’ll stop at the end of the game when we celebrate, but during the game we don’t stop.”
“If the opposition wants to stop, that’s good for us, we’ll f*cking take advantage of it.”
And that’s exactly what this Celtic team did. As the Rangers players stopped, Daizen Maeda was on his toes, wide alert and took advantage of the situation.
His sharp burst of speed to get hold of the ball and then to quickly turn towards goal before playing a delightful ball onto the head of Jota, who was also brilliantly alert to the situation and head it into the net to score what proved to be the winning goal for us.
